Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the clinical effectiveness and safety of using Sangreel W7, a herbal medicine derived from丁香 Eugenia jambolana, in the treatment of moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris. This ancient Chinese remedy provide an alternative natural approach for managing common skin disorders such as acne.
Methods: A randomized control trial was conducted with 108 participants who were diagnosed with mild-to-moderate acne vulgaris grades II and III. These individuals were randomly divided into two groups: a treatment group consisting of 55 patients who received Sangreel W7, and a control group of 53 patients who received standard therapy for acne.
The study employed a placebo-controlled approach. The primary outcomes measured included the reduction in inflammatory lesions such as papules and pustules, along with overall skin condition improvement based on clinical assessments by dermatologists after four weeks of treatment.
Results: s showed that the group treated with Sangreel W7 exhibited significant improvements compared to the control group across multiple assessment metrics. Notably, there was a marked decrease in the number of inflammatory lesions and an overall improvement in skin texture and appearance as assessed by both patients and dermatologists.
Safety Profile:
No serious adverse effects were reported among participants receiving Sangreel W7 during the course of the study. Mild side effects such as dryness or mild itching were recorded but resolved upon discontinuation of treatment, suggesting a favorable safety profile for this herbal remedy in managing acne vulgaris.
:
Sangreel W7 demonstrated both efficacy and safety when used to treat moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris. This traditional Chinese medicine offers a natural alternative to conventional therapies, showing potential benefits with minimal adverse effects. Further studies are recommed to confirm these findings and explore the mechanism behind its action agnst acne lesions, ming to expand treatment options for patients struggling with this common skin concern.
The research indicates promising outcomes for Sangreel W7 as an adjunctive therapy in acne management, highlighting the continued relevance of traditional medicine alongside modern treatments. This study paves the way for future clinical trials that could provide a comprehensive understanding and validation of its application in dermatology practice.
