I: Mild acne with few comedonal lesions andor mild inflammatory lesions 30 of the face.
II: Moderate acne with more extensive inflammatory lesions covering at least half of the face but less than full facial coverage.
III: Severe acne characterized by large nodules, deep pustules, or cysts affecting most of the skin surface.
IV: Inflammatory acne that has caused permanent scarring.
Encourage a healthy diet with reduced intake of high-glycemic index foods and dry products which might exacerbate acne.
Advocate for regular physical activity, stress management, and adequate sleep to promote skin health.
Beta-blockers: Ideal for mild to moderate cases where oral treatment is contrndicated or not effective.
Topical retinoids: Recommed for patients with keratinization disorders leading to comedone formation.
Antibiotics: Short-term use of low-dose topical tetracyclines, erythromycin or oral doxycycline, minocycline antibiotics as a secondary measure agnst non-inflammatory lesions.
Acitretin: Considered for moderate to severe acne in patients who have not responded adequately to topical treatments.
Retinoids and isotretinoin: Indicated for severe acne that does not respond to other therapies, especially when scarring is a concern.
Narrowband Ultraviolet B NB-UVB: Recommed as an effective treatment option for inflammatory lesions in moderate-to-severe cases.
Photochemical treatments with topical psoralens plus UVA PUVA therapy may be used based on individual patient factors and clinical response.
